From Struggle to Strength: My Journey & Passion for Fitness
Hey, welcome! I’m Camilla Cromstedt, a Personal Trainer with a well equipped home gym in Amstelveen, where I live with my family. I was born and raised in Sweden, but with a Dutch mother, it felt like a natural step to move to Amsterdam for my university studies after high school .
For as long as I can remember, I struggled with my weight and was constantly trying different diets. I was always active, but it never really made a difference – most of my workouts were just endless cardio sessions, spinning classes, and group workouts. After my pregnancy, I hit a low point and knew something had to change. That’s when I discovered strength training and adjusted my nutrition to not only be focusing on calories but also on the macronutrients. It wasn’t a quick fix, but over time, I lost 35 kg and became stronger than ever. And honestly? That strength gives me even more pride than the weight loss itself. After nearly 16 years in IT, I took a leap and followed my passion – helping others get stronger, healthier, and more confident. And the best part? I absolutely love doing it! It gives me so much energy.
Self-worth isn’t about weight or size
– it’s about how you feel and how you show up in life

The journey began in 2012…
I had made many attempts to change in the past, but it wasn’t until I realized that change wasn’t just about how I looked- it was about how I felt. When I decided to prioritize myself, I was able to make real progress. Self-worth isn’t about weight or size – it’s about how you feel and how you show up in life. We give so much to family, work, and others, but it’s also okay to take up space, to invest in ourselves, and to want to feel good—not for anyone else, but for ourselves.
…and continues past 2019
Since this photo was taken, I have put some weight back on – back then, I made sacrifices to achieve that physique, but I’ve come to realize that living a little and enjoying life is worth so much more. What matters most is that I’ve built sustainable, healthy habits along the way. This journey became more than personal; I turned my passion into my profession. I have a special interest in (post-obesity) weight management – not just losing weight, but keeping it off, which is often the hardest part. I keep educating myself on this topic, using my own experience as an example.
